Entrepreneur Mareks Pušpurs has been involved in deer breeding, a family business, since 2004. His farm includes floodplain meadows within the Lubāns wetland complex that require restoration, which led him to become a partner in the LIFEMarshMeadows project. Mareks is the first and only partner to use deer for grazing, a unique approach in meadow restoration. Since the use of deer in grassland management is uncommon, Mareks’ experience will serve as a trial to evaluate the effectiveness of this method.
